A3 closed Southbound after motorcyclist flown to Hospitial

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was found lying in the road on the A3 southbound earlier today.

We were called to the A3, around 0.5 miles north of Milford, at around 16.30 this afternoon. On arrival officers found a motorcyclist with serious injuries. He has been taken to hospital by air ambulance and is believed to be in a serious condition.

The A3 southbound has been closed to allow emergency services to do their work, and the northbound A3 was closed for a short period to allow the air ambulance to land. The southbound closures are likely to remain in place for a considerable time into this evening, and drivers who are using the A3 southbound are advised to take the A31 towards Farnham, then the A325, rejoining the A3 at Longmoor. We are grateful to the public for their patience and support while we clear the incident scene.
Police are keen to understand the circumstances of how the motorcyclist was injured, and are appealing to drivers who saw the motorcyclist come off his bike, or were driving along the A3 southbound between Guildford and Milford between 16:15 and 16.30 this afternoon, to come forward. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage from that time.

Anyone with any information, no matter how small, that could help the investigation is asked to call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference PR/P18045696.
