Police Hunt Puttenham Road Rage Attacker

A man was left needing 14 stitches after he was assaulted during a road rage incident in Puttenham earlier this month.

The victim had been travelling along the A3 around 6.25pm on 13 March when he noticed a red Vauxhall Astra trying to force its way through the traffic. The victim turned off the A3 at Puttenham followed by the Astra. He was waiting to turn right onto the A31 on The Street just past the Harvester restaurant when the driver of the Astra got out and approached him with a clenched fist. The victim rolled down his window and was punched three times, causing a large open gash to the forehead, a small cut on the top of his head and a small cut below his eye. He was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford where he was treated for his injuries.

The suspect is described as white, in his late 20s, of a medium build and wearing a grey hooded top with a blue jacket on top and rings or a knuckle duster on his right hand. He was driving a new Vauxhall Astra.

PC Cristina El Sadawy, who is investigating the incident, said:
“This was a seemingly unprovoked attack which has not only left the victim needing numerous stitches but has also caused him extreme distress. I am urging anyone who was in the area at the time of the offence to come forward as you may have information which could assist our investigation.”
