Witness appeal after elderly man assaulted in Ashtead

We are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on an elderly man on Linden Pit Path,Leatherhead, on Tuesday, 6 April.

The incident occurred at around 10.15am after a verbal altercation with a passing cyclist. The victim has then been thrown to the ground at great force, causing a compound fracture to the arm.
The suspect has then fled the scene on his bicycle towards Ottways Lane, Ashtead.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 40 years of age, of a heavy build with grey hair and a short grey beard. At the time of the assault he was wearing dark clothing, black cycle helmet and grey cycling breeches.

We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have smart doorbell footage, to get in touch.
